the turbows
Grandma Heidi, Papa Mel and Auntie Sarah were here this past weekend to celebrate Vivienne's* first birthday. The kids had a great time taking advantage of the copious amounts of spoiling available and the grown-ups had a great time serving it up.
Thursday was "Avery's Choice" as coined by Sarah, where he got to choose every activity for the day (Jumpin' Jordys...oh wait, Nikki took a bunch of pictures of which I do not have the energy to edit right now, but look for them in a later post because there are lots of cute ones). Saturday, everyone attended soccer class and then took Avery to a movie. Sunday, Avery stayed at the hotel with Grandma and Papa, after a second movie, who learned that a boy given even a little sugar can easily stay awake until 2am (sorry, guys). We heard that they even took him down to an empty ballroom to run off some energy around 1:30am. In their defense, he had been napping every day that week and probably had some extra sleep stored up.
As usual, Sarah went home sick, Grandma and Papa went home tired, but everyone went home with a lot more love.
*As a side note, I rarely ever call her Vivi, but almost always type it because it's shorter. More often than not, I refer to her as Vivienne while speaking.
