february iphone dump

Ice. More ice. Strawberry finger. Wearing Jeff's boots. She'll be fun in college. Fruitful Valentines day. Family pedicures. Floating Avery. Crazy light.

I love that face. All the loveys. Triplets! Prohibition light. Trying to stay awake for Auntie Sarah. Hotel games. Hotel videos. Sharing raisins. Bacon soda for Katy. Target parking lot.

So glamorous. Sunglasses. Big boy seat! He edited it himself. Sleeping in the sofa hole. Avery loves the purple color cast. Strawberry cake. Fallen stop sign. The most expensive 2 minutes ever.

Attention shoppers. Driving the trains. Short stop sign. Bathing beauty. Like father, like son. Watching trains. How Scott lets Vivi out of the house. Take me to this movie.

shanaya

Such a beautiful face. I promise, she was happy.

They all carried a few toys on our adventure

Dropping rocks down the storm drain!

Please note Avery's choice of shoes

Girlfriends
Can you see the look on her face?

She had a blast

See. We got lots of smiles out of her.

Since I was home all this week and Rahul and Jo were in a childcare pinch, I happily volunteered to watch Shanaya for the day. She was perfect. She didn't even cry or whine once! Amazing. The kids had so much fun playing together that it really was easier to have all three. My kids even got Shanaya to try eating a bowl of ice and Shanaya shared her raisins.

breckenridge take two | swimming

Swimming was definitely the highlight of the trip. Scott went skiing again, so the kids and I ventured to the pool. Avery was SO excited that I let him in the pool by himself and before you call protective services, he can touch and keep his head above water in most of the pool. He was a proud boy and so happy to have me and Sister watch him swim. He is definitely getting more comfortable in the water and I'm finally seeing the results of all those Saturday morning swim classes!

breckenridge take two | a side of ice please

Seriously. After all the whining these two darling children threw at us because of the cold, they had the nerve to request a bowl of ice at the coffee shop we stopped at after the gondola ride. Never mind the beautiful and delicious iced sugar cooking I got them, they needed ICE, despite the subzero temperatures outside. Oh, and did I mention that Avery broke the bottle of vodka I brought. Hilarious.

breckenridge take two | the gondola

Due to a fit someone threw (I told you this was a challenging trip), we barely made it to the gondola on time. Really, this was going to be the highlight of my trip because I had envisioned getting some fabulous family shots at the top of the mountain. However, the attendants told us not to get off at the top because they wouldn't let us back on. So we rode up and around. The kids really seemed to enjoy it and I was trying to fight off the motion sickness from riding backwards. One guess where Avery gets his carsickness affliction from!?!

breckenridge take two | the children's museum

Bears going into their cave
She's constructing the house her Mama designed...
 ...to pay for medical school
He looks like he's going to enjoy giving his mom a shot too much
Right in the shin

Vivann's turn
She can do it by herself
Now that we've had our shots, it's time to listen to our hearts
Sounds good

Nope, you did not break your leg skiing
Playing so sweetly together

Dr.s Turbow and Turbow

We then did some fishing
Played with shapes

Even though the slope of the bridge was minimal, Viv would not walk down it. Just before the end, she would sit down and scootch the rest of the way
Magnetic ball ramps
While Scott went skiing for the morning, the kids and I ventured to the Children's museum, a mere 3 blocks away. We had to stop twice to warm up. Pioneers we are not. The museum was pretty cute and had lots of toys and 'exhibits' to keep the kids occupied. It reminded me more of a childcare center rather than a museum, but it served it's purpose. Getting back to the hotel was equally if not more challenging, because it was uphill and Viv was trying to fall asleep as I carried her, despite how cold she claimed she was.

breckenridge take two | the hotel

Since Nikki had requested the week off for vacation and Scott and I didn't want to play Childcare Shuffle, we decided to take a little vacation as well. Scott can usually get pretty good rates at hotels, so we ventured back up to Breckenridge as a sort of redo of the Christmas trip. If you've forgotten, it involved projectile vomiting.

Well, our luck in the puke department did not hold, but at least this time it was only due to car sickness. Avery tossed his cookies on the steps of the hotel right when he got out of the car and then again on the way home. Poor kid, and poor Daddy who had to empty the bowl on the side of the highway in high winds.

ANYWAY, at least this time we left the hotel. Although, that was not without much difficulty because 1. it was frigidly cold outside and Viv cried whenever she was exposed to it and 2. Avery's behavior was less than stellar. He is in some sort of awful behavior, bad listening phase. Someone told me it is called the Fucking Fours, and I am in complete agreement.

Truthfully, the whole weekend felt like a lot of work. I'm so thankful that we were able to get away for a few days, but I am looking forward to the point where traveling with two children gets easier.

greens

Peek, Daddy. I see you!
Bonk your nose
Standing in line looked like so much fun, she just had to join Daddy
This one makes my heart melt a little

As does this one

And this one

Most importantly, Auntie Sarah was there!

Yup. The kids need cups of ice all of the time
He's really just waiting around until he can play
At least Vivann likes to eat
This is one of my new favorite pictures
As close to a cow as this city slicker will get
We love when Auntie Sarah comes to visit and unfortunately the only pictures I took when she was here were at Greens. For the first time, we got a babysitter instead of taking turns taking Sarah out when she was here so that we could all go out and have some grown-up fun. We ate awesome sushi and then met cousin Jeff at a speakeasy style bar that was fantastic. I'm still dreaming about the bacon benets.

A lot of credit goes to Sarah because I volunteered to take Mady swimming with me since Cathryn was out of town hoping that Viv would swim with Sarah. No such luck. Viv does not like sharing her Mommy. At all. She was kind of a pain in the ass about it and at one point, I had both girls. However, Sarah used her endless charm to win Mady over and they were soon having a splish splashy blast. Thank you, Auntie Sarah.

Like always the weekend was too short and we had to drop Sarah off at the airport. We can't wait until May when she comes back!
