vivienne's 1st day of school

Please note the lack of pink. It took me a week to convince her this was her only choice for first day of school wear.
We will recreate this picture at the end of the year to see how much she's grown.

Nikki has been at every first day of school since the Turbow children started attending school.

This way, people!
She had to ditch the backpack.

She's tolerating this.
It is now Vivienne's turn at Temple Emanuel. This transition was all in all pretty easy for everyone. It's only 2 mornings a week and Viv has been coming with us to drop off Brother here for her entire life. She only whined a little on the first day and easily jumped in to the fun that is preschool. The second day of school, however was a bit rough. She had already caught a cold from day one, had an accident because her classroom potty was occupied and the teacher didn't get her to an alternate location in time, and then she spilled water on her shirt. Wet shirts are a thing for Viv. She hates it and if such a spill happens at home, she promptly removes the offending article and insists I put it in the dryer. I had packed back up clothes for her but she REFUSED to let the teachers change her. While Ms. Terri was recounting the day's adventures and the whole wet shirt debacle, she looks at me in the kindest way possible and says, "Maybe you should bring her some pink clothes, you idiot." Apparently, a brown and white striped shirt with a pink flower is not pink enough for an upset Viv. This is also the girl who refused to wear a blue name tag because it didn't match her dress the previous week. Anyway, Viv seems to really like school and looks forward going, playing with the toys and the little girl in her class who looks remarkably like her.

*The teacher did not in fact call me an idiot, but I really should have known better.
